End-to-End Encryption Will Come to Google Messages

Finally, Google Messages app will be getting a new update. The end-to-end encryption will now be integrated into the standard messaging app of Android phones. This new feature was firstly recognized by the third party apk providers such as APKMirror and 9to5 Google. The forthcoming version of the messaging app would run on Rich Communication services, also known as RCS that is far better technology used in the current SMS app.

The arriving app would be loaded with several advanced features that come on the iMessage app by Apple and the WhatsApp messaging app from Facebook. Now you will be able to access exciting features like reading receipts, group chats, character allowed up to 8000, typing notification, and send messages via WiFi and mobile data.

This means the new app will possess powerful features on the par with third party social messaging apps such as WhatsApp. Now bear in mind that the current SMS app supports only up to 160 characters.

Users had to wait for a long time to get these features on their traditional SMS apps, but it seems like they don’t need to wait anymore.

The most significant feature, the end-to-end encryption is being planned for the new Google Messages app to enhance credibility and security. This is no doubt a groundbreaking update for the mere SMS app that is considered a pretty basic app. However, after the update, it seems like it will become one of the smartest apps to send and receive messages.

Now once this new app is out, users may get rid of the third parties messaging platforms that have pathetic privacy policies. Due to using the advanced features, most users are forced to use these apps despite the fact that their privacy gets scrapped.

Other messaging applications like iMessage and Signal, Google Messages lack the most important feature “end to end encryption” that ensures users’ privacy and security.

Without this feature, the service providers can dig into your private conversations and use it for their own benefits.

This feature also prevents third parties from accessing your private conversations and interests. Privacy is the biggest concern these days for social media and any social communication app.

Gladly, the new Google Messages will come with 12 strings of encryption as per told by 9 to 5 Google. It is not clear whether these features would work with only updating the app on the sender’s device, or both users need it on their devices.

This information will only reveal when it will come out officially or the beta version for testing purposes. Users will also get control over the permissions for the Google Messages app, and they will be able to deny and allow specific apps to access its data.

However, there is no official confirmation about exactly when this feature is gonna roll out for the standard users. Whereas this new amazing feature is a lot exciting and will turn around the whole way we use the app today, nothing can be said for its release date so far.
